SPECSAVERS has given a big vote of confidence to Burnham-on-Sea’s town centre by announcing it is to invest in a three-week refit.

The High Street store, which has been in Burnham for 14 years, is installing new equipment and an extra testing room to give locals an even better experience when they visit.

To allow for these changes, the store will close from January 28 to February 18.

Rama Venkat, store director, said: "We’re really excited about this refit. We love Burnham-On-Sea and genuinely believe in its thriving town centre.

"We want to be part of its bright future for years to come. When we’ve spoken to customers, and they’ve been really positive about the decision and love the fact that we’re investing in the town.

"We believe this investment will bring real benefits to our customers, combining the latest eye care and retail technology to provide a highly professional and ultra-modern service."

He added: "The store will look really great when it’s finished. I would encourage anyone who’s not been here before to come along and look around when we reopen."
