ALL three lanes of the motorway were closed between Bridgwater's two M5 junctions following a crash.
Emergency services weer at the scene after the crash on the northbound carriage at around 6.10am this morning.
Traffic was being held on the northbound carriage after the crash, which is believed to involve 'multiple vehicles'.
Lanes were briefly closed on the southbound carriage after the crash.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 06.15am to reports of a road traffic collision on the M5, junction 24.
"We have attended with two ambulances, a doctor, a rapid response vehicle and an operations officer.
"It has been reported that two patients were taken to hospital for further treatment."
All lanes were reopened at 8.20am, after being closed at 6.40am.
