ILMINSTER Town Ladies were without a match at the weekend, but ex-Blues player Erin Bloomfield scored her first goal for Yeovil Town Ladies on Sunday.
She could not keep the Lady Glovers’ FA Cup hopes alive, however, as Birmingham City Women won 3-1 at Dorchester Town FC.
Home goalkeeper Megan Walsh made a string of fine saves to keep the game goalless until the 37th minute, when Aoife Mannion scored from the penalty spot.
Emma Follis netted the visitors’ second just 42 seconds into the second half, and Charlie Wellings made it 3-0 in the 59th minute.
Bloomfield, age 16, came off the bench on 77 minutes and, with her first touch, headed in Charlotte Buxton’s cross – but the goal proved a mere consolation as Birmingham progressed to the fifth round.
