A MAN has been arrested after an armed raid at a property in Bridgwater where police believed there were 'a number of weapons'.
Police officers arrested a 39-year-old man at the home in Taunton Road at around 10.30pm last night (February 28).
Armed officers rushed to the address after a teenager was allegedly robbed at the address, and the force feared there may be weapons inside the property.
After the arrest, a crossbow was taken from the house.
A police spokesman said: “A 39-year-old man was last night arrested from a property on Taunton Road, Bridgwater.
“It followed a report a teenager had earlier been robbed at the address.
“Armed officers were in attendance due to concerns a number of weapons were inside the property.
“ A crossbow was recovered from the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
