QUEEN’S College student Emma Stock has qualified to compete at world-famous Crufts this week with her dog, Athena.

Emma, 15, will compete in the ABC (Anything But Collie) agility class with Athena on Friday, March 8.

She will be showing her faithful friend the following day and, finally, they take part in the graduation agility section on Sunday.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Emma, who is in Year 11 at Queen’s and will be supported by members of her family at the show.

Emma and Athena competed in various events throughout last year and, once all of the points were submitted to the Kennel Club, the top 20 scorers in the country went forward to the world’s most famous dog competition.

It is an even greater achievement as Athena is still young – not even three – and 2018 was their first year of competing.

To mark the occasion, Emma has been provided with a special T-shirt to wear at Crufts.
