STAFF and customers at Specsavers in Burnham-on-Sea were celebrating after the store reopened following a three week refurbishment.

The High Street store was closed for a couple of weeks while new equipment and an extra testing room were installed.

A larger seating area was also added, as well as more-easily-accessible facilities for wheelchair-users.

Rama Venkat, store director, said there was a party atmosphere at the store when it reopened its doors to the public.

He said: "Many of our customers have been coming here for years and have become friends to us, so it was great to see them here for our big day.

"Since we reopened, we have been able to show people around the store and give them an experience of the latest eye care and retail technology we have.

"We are pleased to be enhance the highly professional and ultra-modern service our staff provide.’
