A GROUP which helps people learn skills and make friends hosted an open day in a bid to get more members to join their club.
Members of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Men's Shed showed visitors around their facilities at the Morland Hall in Highbridge on Saturday (March 23) and encouraged them to get involved and create their own building projects.
Visitors also had the chance to buy furniture including tables and bird boxes at the event which were made by the group's members.
Tony Cradock, chairman of Burnham and Highbridge Men's Shed, said the event was a big success.
He said: "We had about five men and four women come to our open day which made us really happy as that means we have more new members joining our group.
"Hopefully these new members will continue to come to the group and meet some new people."
Despite the success of the open day Tony said the club is still looking for new members and is appealing for anyone who has any left-over timber to get in touch.
"We use timber a lot for our building projects and we could do with some more so if anyone has any timber they can spare please get in touch with us," Tony said.
