A HIGHBRIDGE tattoo studio has raised more than £400 for a mental health charity by doing £15 tattoos inspired by mental health.

On May 30 talented tattoo artists at Coping Studios in Church Street gave more than 30 people semi-colon and green mental health ribbon tattoos and raised £437 for Somewhere House Somerset.

The semi colon - which is used when an author could have chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to - has become a symbol of hope for those battling with poor mental health or suicidal thoughts.

Sam Scott, owner of Coping Studios, said: "We are so proud to be supporting Somwhere House Somerset and we met some really lovely inspirational people.

"Everyone said what a calming atmosphere it was and we have had lots of amazing feedback.

"We are so thankful to everyone who came and showed their support and we look forward to doing many more events like this as we feel so passionate about mental health.

"We are also offering private sittings for anyone who wants their self harm scars covered up."
