THE incredibly talented pianist Clare Hammond is recognised for the virtuosity and authority of her performances.

She will be entertaining audiences from July 4 until 6 with a powerful programme that includes the world premiere of Michael Zev Gordon’s Diary Pieces, as well as sonatas by Josef Myslive ek and Rachmaninov.

Recently, Clare has performed Panufnik with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Roxburgh with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Chopin with the Philharmonia at the Royal Festival Hall. She has also played the young Miss Shepherd in the film adaptation of The Lady in the Van.

Founder and director of Concerts in the West, Catherine Hodgson, said: “We are delighted to welcome Clare Hammond to the depths of the West Country. She has a great interest in contemporary piano music.”
