TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Apex Park in Highbridge.
Sedgemoor District Council said the travellers arrived at the park in Marine Drive earlier this week and efforts are being made to remove the group from the land.
A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council, said: "We have received a report of travellers on grassland adjacent to Apex Park Burnham-on-Sea.
"We have attended the site with the Police and there is only one caravan on site at present.
"The occupier stated that there would only be one more van setting up and that they would leave at the beginning of next week.
"We have served a letter requiring that they vacate by 10.00am on Monday, July 1.
"The police will monitor over the weekend.
"If they are still on site on Monday legal proceedings will be started, which is the earliest that we can start proceedings due to legal timeframes."
