CALLING all dogs – can you take your owner on a six kilometre walk in aid of the Guide Dog charity?

The walk, on Saturday, August 10, is the latest fundraiser by the Rotary Club of Llanidloes for the cause.

As president of the Llanidloes Rotary Club, John Selwyn-Smith has made it his appeal to raise enough money to train a Guide Dog for a blind person –£10,000.

The dog walk will start at 10am from the Kennel Field, Llanidloes, and returning back to the same point.

Entry is £5 on the day or free if you are sponsored for more than £5 by friends and family.

Sponsor forms are available if you would like to help raise even more finds for the Guide Dogs.

All dogs that complete the walk will get a doggy treat and a rosette for taking part.

John says: "Don't worry about your owners getting lost, there will be a map and directions to follow and Doggy Drink Stops along the way."

For more information or forms contact John Selwyn-Smith via email johnselwynsmith@btinternet.com or phone 01686 413589 or there are forms at Woosnam and Davies News, Llanidloes, or from any Llanidloes Rotary Club member.

"Please help us fund a Guide Dog," says John.

The Rotary appeal has already raised £2,000 and John says: "I have never known a more generous town than Llanidloes
