CCTV images have been released in connection with the theft of a valuable violin.
The instrument was reported stolen on a Thameslink train from Brighton to Bedford.
The theft took place at approximately 5.20pm on 11 June when the victim accidentally left their bag on the train whilst he was heading towards Haywards Heath.
Another man then approached and took the bag before getting off at East Croydon station.
British Transport Police are looking into the incident and believe the man in the image may have information that could help further the investigation.
They are now urging people who know his identity to contact them.
A spokesman said: "If you know who he is, contact British Transport Police by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 498 of 11/06/2019.
"Or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
