EAGLE-eyed viewers may be able to pick out Somerset scenery during a new Jane Austen adaptation which hit the screens last weekend.
The first episode of ITV's new Sunday evening drama, Sanditon, may have noticed some familiar vistas in the first episode - with Brean beach featuring as the backdrop in several scenes.
"Sedgemoor District Council were contacted back in January and suggested either Berrow or Brean beach for the seaside shots in the eight-part series," said a council spokesperson.
"After the production company visited both locations, they decided to use Brean as the backdrop to the series."
Sanditon was written just months before Jane Austen’s death in 1817.
In the story, Sanditon is a fishing village trying to reinvent itself as a seaside resort and the locals whose fortunes depend on its commercial success.
