AN ELDERLY woman has sadly died following a crash on the A38 in West Huntspill.
Emergency services were called to Bristol Road at around 12.05pm on Wednesday (September 11) following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
Bristol Road was closed for a number of hours while police collision investigators were at the scene.
An elderly woman was taken to hospital with potentially life threatening injuries on Wednesday but a spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police has confirmed the woman has sadly died from her injuries.
The spokesman said: "“The driver of a car involved in a single-vehicle collision on the A38 at West Huntspill on Wednesday, September 11 sadly died in hospital the next day.
"The family are aware and are being supported by a specialist family liaison officer.
"Officers are making further enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”
