VISITORS to a charity fundraising event in Somerset got a surprise serenade - when Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis took to the microphone!
Dairy farmer Mr Eavis, who next year marks 50 years since the first Glastonbury Festival took place on his Worthy Farm, in Pilton, was at Haslebury Mill for a fundraising event for the Somerset Sight charity.
He gave a talk on his varied life, from dairy farmer to festival founder.
"Michael answered many questions from the audience and then joined us for a ploughman’s supper afterwards," said a charity spokesperson.
"He treated the audience to a singing performance following supper and Roger Bastable and his group Rave to the Grave finished off the night with some fantastic numbers."
The evening raised more than £2,500 for Somerset Sight, which each year helps more than 3,000 blind and visually-impaired people live full and independent lives.
