SCORES of people packed into the Morland Community Hub as it held a family fun day to showcase its facilities.

On Saturday (September 28) more than 100 people enjoyed performances from Bollywood Dancers and circus performers, browsing around craft and gift stalls and live music from local bands.

Representatives from St John’s Ambulance Service gave visitors first aid tips and hosted live demonstrations on basic life support skills and amateur crafters from Highbridge Ladies Shed showed off their creations at their stalls.

The event was opened by Mayor and Mayoress of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Cllr Andy Brewer and his wife, Lorna, and town crier, Alisdair Murray also attended the event.

Jane MacPherson, organiser of the event, said it was a big success and thanked everyone for attending.

She said: “The Morland Hub’s family fun day was a runaway success enjoyed by scores of visitors, families and children.

“We had some great activities there on the day and we would like to thank everyone who attended.

“We were grateful to have the Mayor and Mayoress there to open the event and to see the town crier.

“This event promises to be the start of more and more exciting events at the Morland Hall.

“Together with educational and informative selection of events we will be bring more to the Morland Community Hub.”
