THE owners of a Burnham-on-Sea pub which was badly damaged by fire said they hope to reopen it in Spring next year.
Multiple fire crews were called to The Rosewood Pub in Love Lane, Burnham-on-Sea, at around 2.15pm on June 15 following reports of a kitchen fire.
Firefighters battled for more than two hours to bring the fire under control but sadly the pub was severely smoke, fire and heat damaged as a result of the incident.
The pub was closed after the fire in June but a spokesperson for Greene King, who owns the pub, said they will be submitting a planning application to rebuild the venue soon and hope works will be completed by Spring 2020.
A spokesperson for Greene King said: “We have been working hard to assess the damage to the Rosewood pub since the fire earlier this year and we are pleased to now be in a position to submit a planning application to rebuild the pub.
"Whilst it is too early to give an exact date for reopening, we are hoping work will be complete in Spring 2020 and we look forward to welcoming back the local community to the pub soon.”
