PRO-Europe campaigners from Somerset will be among hundreds of thousands who will march on London in what is being billed as the largest anti-Brexit protest yet.

Somerset Loves Europe, a cross-party group dedicated to keeping Britain in the EU, is organising coaches from points all over the county to take their supporters to the capital on Saturday, October 19 for the Let Us Be Heard March.

Coaches will pick up from Taunton, Yeovil, Wincanton, Glastonbury, Wells, Shepton Mallet, Frome, Minehead, Washford, Williton, Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea.

The demonstration is being organised by the People’s Vote campaign, which was also behind a peaceful march in March which attracted an estimated one million people.

Protestors will call for a second referendum to let voters have a final say on Brexit, with the march set to move from Park Lane to Parliament Square, to hear speakers from across the political spectrum.

Paul Adams, chair of Somerset Loves Europe, said: “Boris Johnson is 100 per cent focused on leaving the EU and, in so doing, destroying the economy and removing the freedoms and rights that we have enjoyed for more than 40 years.

"The Government isn’t listening to the people of this country, many of whom have changed their minds over Brexit. But if enough of us come to London on October 19, they will hear us.

"We meet people at our street stalls and other events all over Somerset and we know that far from wanting Brexit done, a lot of people just want Brexit gone completely,” Paul added.
