THIS is the dramatic moment a man tried to gun down two armed police officers - forcing the cops to scream and fire back.
Daniel Hannam, 32, is charged with two counts of attempted murder following a standoff in Castle Cary, Somerset earlier this year.
Jurors were shown footage of the heart-stopping incident during a trial at Bristol Crown Court yesterday (Weds).
The clip, shot on body-worn cameras, shows two officers making their way to the front door of a property in the early hours of January 23.
One then says "window movement" so both aim their guns towards the top-left of the house. A police helicopter can also be heard overhead.
A shout of "put your hands to the window now" seems to have little effect - until a shot is fired at the officers.
They then return fire and scream "shots fired" before shouting "get back".
Hannam denies charges of attempting to murder a police officer, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted kidnap.
He has admitted possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, making use of a firearm with intent to resist arrest and attempting to burgle a shop.
The trial continues.
