VOLUNTEERS from ABF The Soldier’s Charity have thanked customers at Burnham-on-Sea’s Tesco score for donating more than £1,000 to the charity.

On October 5 volunteers collected £1,148 from customers at the store in Ben Travers Way and the money will be used to help support soldiers and their families.

Major Ian Corroyer , chairman of the Somerset ABF committee, thanked customers for their donations.

He said: “A total of £1146.35 was collected at Tesco Burnham-on-Sea Superstore by supporters of ABF. Currently, our support ranges from a 2 month old child of a serving soldier to a 107 year old widow, as well as the more obvious injured from recent conflicts.

“The support we received from the people of Burnham and the surrounding areas was tremendous and we would like to thank all who supported our collection.”

“It was a magnificent response. Thank you.”
