The Lakeland Dialect Society raised £540 for Blood Bikes Cumbria from its annual evening of fun.
The group stage an evening of song, jokes and sketches at Theatre by the Lake every year to raise awareness of the county's own language.
There were very few seats available in the Studio Theatre for the performance earlier this month as members performed their own stories and poems as well as singing traditional songs and reading tales that have been handed down the generations.
The Society decided to hand the money they raised to the charity after show organiser President Tommy Coulthard was told of their work by one of the volunteers at the theatre who is a supporter of the volunteer organisation.
