More than 130 guests donned beautiful and brilliant masks to support St Margaret’s Hospice Care this week.

Their prestigious black-tie event ‘The Great Somerset Masked Ball’ took place on October 18 at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

The ball was sponsored by local business DMA Stairlifts and the night raised more than £7,900.00.

Guests were treated to a three-course meal, followed by a charity auction with prizes including a ‘Cricket Lovers Package’ and a one-week stay in an 18th century farmhouse in France.

After compering and running the auction, local radio presenter Steve Carpenter opened the dance floor and guests danced the night away.

Marisa Lovell-Fox, Head of Fundraising at St Margaret’s Hospice Care, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have raised such a significant amount of money at our St Margaret’s Hospice ‘Great Somerset Masked Ball’.

“We would like to thank all of those who attended on the night and gave so generously, as well as the many individuals and businesses that helped to make it happen.

“The money raised will go towards care and support for patients and their families facing a life limiting illness across Somerset.”
