POOCH owners from across Somerset packed into Mark Village Hall to enjoy a day with their pets at Help 4 Hounds charity dog show.

On Sunday (November 10) dog owners and their pets competed for prizes at the event, including handsomest hound, best trick and best rescue dog and there was also a raffle, a bric-a-brac stall, a clothes stall and a face-painting stall at the event.

Canine parent Sally Daniel had her head shaved by Highbridge barber Lee Theobold to raise funds and a group of brave fundraisers also had their legs waxed to bring in cash for the charity.

A spokesperson for Help 4 Hounds, said the event was a big success and raised more than £600 for the charity.

He added: “We would like to say a big thank you to everybody that came to support us.

“We are overwhelmed with the support that everybody is giving us. It means such a lot for us at Help 4 Hounds.

“We have raised a total so far of £685.72 a big thank you to everybody that gave up their time on Sunday to help us.”
