A CHARITY shop in Oswestry has been getting into the festive spirit by holding a special Christmas items sale.

The Salvation Army store, based in Church Street, held the special sale on Thursday, to mark the start of their festive period.

Throughout the year the charity shop receives donations of various Christmas themed items, which they keep to one side ready for the end of the year.

It is a practice that the shop has followed for several years, and sale assistant Martin Harrison says this year’s sale proved to be as popular as ever.

“It’s our Christmas extravaganza,” said Martin. “Everything Christmassy we keep to one side and put up on one day.

“This year we get word out so it’s been quite a busy day, despite the weather. We’ve managed to make between £50 and £100.

“We’ll keep the theme going towards Christmas, but today is the main day.”
