IT was this week in 2009 that the walls came tumbling down on Bridgwater’s beloved Sedgemoor Splash swimming pool.
Wreckers moved in during the week, reducing part of the Splash’s back wall to rubble – giving passers-by a sad glimpse inside the once-thriving facility.
A mural saved from the Splash by Elaine Thorneycroft-Gibb, was placed on the walls of the Angel Place Shopping Centre where it can still be seen today.
The site will soon be home to a modern seven-screen cinema and leisure complex including a number of restaurants.
