A NEW Highbridge Co-op store will open in Spring next year, the Co-op has confirmed.

Work is underway to build the new supermarket on the junction of Morland Road and Burnham Road on land which was previously occupied by the former Morlands Industrial Park which closed in 2014.

The development, which will have will have 15 car parking spaces and will also house a one bedroom flat, was due to open in Summer 2018 but building work was delayed while the Co-op applied for planning permission to allow for early morning deliveries and it is now on track to open in Spring 2020.

A spokesperson for Radstock Co-op, said: “We aim to open the store in the spring.

“With new build projects such as this, there is always a risk of delay for a multitude of reasons but the main driver will always be to open a first class community store and not to compromise on quality.

“We are looking forward to the launch date which will be publicised as soon as we are able.”
