A HIGHBRIDGE school is set to reopen today after a serious flu outbreak forced it to close for two days.
The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge closed its doors to students on Thursday and Friday (December 12 and 13) to allow for a full deep clean of its facilities to take place after a number of students reported suffering from the flu.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for the school said: "Following a full and deep clean, school will be open as usual on Monday (December 16).
"Students who are still showing symptoms should remain home until symptoms have cleared as per the previous advice.
"Unfortunately however the Battle of the Bands that was planned for Tuesday has had to be postponed until the new year.
"The Annual Awards Evening on Wednesday, December 18 will go ahead as planned.
"We would like to thank all members of our community for their support during this unusual and unprecedented situation."
