A TEENAGER is in a serious condition in hospital after a collision yesterday.
Officers were called to the incident on Hard Ings Road, Keighley, at around 5:40pm on Sunday.
The crash happened just before Keighley Ambulance Station.
A red Vauxhall Zafira was travelling towards Bradford when it was in collision with a temporary fence at the side of the road, according to a police spokesperson.
Chris Brady, an eyewitness, said: "I believe the car went into the trench dug by the road works."
The police spokesperson added: "A pedestrian, aged 18, was walking on the other side of the fence and was seriously injured."
Police confirmed the casualty was taken to hospital and Mr Brady said the 18-year-old was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
The police spokesperson said the driver of the Zafira is helping with investigations.
Officers are appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.
They would like to speak to anyone with information and particularly those who may have dash cam footage.
