A BURNHAM-on-Sea gift shop has reopened to customers after a £5,000 refurbishment.

Flutter By in Oxford Street has been transformed into a gift lover’s haven complete with bright walls, new flooring and lighting and new shelving.

The shop, which is owned by Yvonne and Darren, opened in September 2018 and sells everything from colourful soaps and candles to jewellery, cushions and lights.

Speaking about the refurbishment, Yvonne said: “We closed the shop on Christmas Eve and we reopened on Monday (January 13) so the refurbishment took two weeks.

“We wanted to do a refurbishment to make the shop look more appealing and brighten it up a bit.

“We have had a lot more crafters coming into the shop and there has been an increased demand for what we offer so we wanted to add more shelving space and make it nicer for our customers.

“The refurb cost us around £5,000 and we have had a few customers pop in and tell us they like the changes we have made.

“We have introduced a few new products for our crafters which is great and we hope to see more of them this year.

“We have installed new shelving, took up the old flooring and put in some nice new wood flooring and gave the store a fresh lick of paint.

“We are really pleased with the changes we have made.”

Yvonne said 2019 was a busy year for Flutter By and she has high hopes for the future.

“2019 was a fantastic year for Flutter By and we are hoping to have the same success in 2020,” Yvonne said.

“We are looking forward to getting more crafters into the store and to hopefully beat our 2019 sales this year.

“We will be selling charity jewellery and bags from In Charley’s Memory again this year and have added some new stock to our shelves which will be great for crafters and we have a lot of fantastic new gifts available.

“We are looking forward to what 2020 has to bring for us at Flutter By.”
