A MUCH-used Taunton footbridge has reopened after it was damaged by vandals.
The walkway, in Goodland Gardens, was closed to pedestrians in July after a guard rail was dislodged on one side.
Somerset West and Taunton Council (SWT) closed the bridge for repairs and now, six months on, the bridge is open once again.
A spokesperson for SWT said at the time: "Council-owned bridges are inspected on a six-monthly basis and immediately when faults are reported.
"We would encourage members of the public to contact the council directly to report faults to ensure that we can respond quickly and protect the safety of the public.”
