A DETERMINED student has earned a prestigious Duke of Edinburgh gold award.
Lottie Leader, a pupil at The King Alfred School, completed challenging tasks over four years to achieve the award and took part in four skill areas β voluntary, skills, physical, and an expedition.
The 17-year-old is an active member of Burnham RNLI and helps to fundraise for the organisation.
For her physical activity, she competed in taekwondo, and also took part in a four-day expedition in Exmoor and Dartmoor.
Lottie now plans a career in nursing, after covering health and safety during her course.
Jonathan Gaskell, head of sixth form at The King Alfred School, said: βThe Duke of Edinburgh Gold award is a prestigious accolade, and Lottie has demonstrated huge attitude, character and resilience to achieve it.β
