TALENTED young actors at a Highbridge school wowed students, staff and parents with their production of Cinderella.

The show, which was performed over three nights this month, was open to the public and saw students from The King Alfred School Academy's Year 12 drama class dance, sing and act their hearts out to impress crowds.

The group began planning for the big performance back in September last year when they were asked to create their own production company in their drama class.

The students' efforts inspired other students to take part in the production and they wowed crowds with their dazzling costumes and emotive monologues.

The self-starting students delegated roles ranging from marketing and directors to backstage crew and front of house.

Natasha White, assistant director of the production, said the production was a big success and praised the group for their hard work.

“We decided on a pantomime because of its fun, light-hearted nature," Natasha said.

"We knew could create a positive production that would draw in the sixth form community and appeal to all ages. The production was built as a team and we have had a blast working on it.”
