PEOPLE across Somerset are being warned to brace themselves as Storm Ciara arrives tomorrow (Sunday).
The strong winds have already led to the cancellation of many train services in the county.
The county is in a swathe of England and Wales put on an amber wind alert fir between 8am and 9pm.
The MetOffice warns people to expect:
*flying debris, which could lead to injuries or danger to life;
*some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs expected;
*longer journey times and cancellations, as road, rail, air and ferry services affected;
*some roads and bridges closed;
*power cuts with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage;
*injuries and danger to life from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
There is the potential for rain throughout the day, with heavy downpours likely from around 10am to 3pm and lighter showers at other times.
Temperatures are expected to be mild for February, with a high of 13 degs C and the thermometer only dipping to around 8 degs C by midnight.
The start of the week looks like being a lot calmer with intermittent sunshine and showers.
