FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a fire at a property in Cossington.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 6.49pm today (February 23) by the occupant of a property in Manor Road who said they smelt burning and could see smoke coming from inside the walls.
Fire control advised the person to evacuate the building and immediately sent two fire engines from Bridgwater fire station and a third fire engine from Burnham on Sea.
On arrival crews advised that the third fire engine was no longer required.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera and small tools to find the cause of the fire.
After further investigation firefighters were able to confirm the cause of the burning was isolated to a dimmer switch and there was no further fire spread.
The cause of the fire was accidental and crews left the scene in the hands of the occupier.
