IT has been a difficult week for the entertainment industry across the country, and now Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council has decided to close The Princess Theatre in Burnham-on-Sea until further notice.

Beccy Armory, the Princess Business Development Officer, stated that putting up postponed and cancelled signs has been “heart-braking”. But the staff and volunteers know that it is the right thing to do for the safety of the community.

The theatre is asking ticketholders to be patient and wait for contact about the postponed or cancelled shows.

If the shows are postponed, tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date. Or if they are cancelled you will recieve a refund or you can donate the cost of the ticket to The Friends of the Princess fund, who work with the theatre to improve its facilities.

The Princess Theatre had a strong start this year with a full calendar of activities and a busy cafe. The Council will now work with staff to plan ahead for a future point when it can re-open.
