THE husband of an NHS worker in Somerset has died in the hospital where she works after contracting the coronavirus.
His grieving widow says her husband stuck to the government guidelines - although she added that "others didn't".
Peter Levy died at Weston General Hospital on Tuesday (April 7).
His widow Sammy, from Burnham-on-Sea, posted on Facebook: "My husband lost his fight against COVID-19 in WGH last night (Tuesday).
"It’s fast, fierce and ultimately fatal.
"He adhered to government advice but others didn’t.
"I am devastated and I do not want anyone else to go through this.
"Do as you are told and STAY INDOORS."
A University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who was being cared for at Weston General Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
"His family, including his wife who is a member of staff at Weston General Hospital, are being supported by colleagues and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.
"We will not be commenting further and ask that everybody respects the family's privacy."
