A HIGHBRIDGE student is celebrating after securing a prestigious apprenticeship with the Ministry of Defence (MOD)
Lewis Priest, a sixth form student at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, will start the apprenticeship in September and will be working to earn a qualification over a number of years.
The sixth former was Student Union President and was role model for younger students.
He also helped to organise the school's Rag Week which raised more than £5,000 for In Charley's Memory this year.
Jonathan Gaskell, head of sixth form at The King Alfred School, said: “We are delighted that after such a gruelling and rigorous application process Lewis has been offered such a prestigious apprenticeship by the Ministry of Defence.
“They obviously recognise the high aspirations and talent that the The Priory Learning Trust sixth form nurtures.”
