THE principal of a Highbridge school said it is 'developing plans' to safely reopen the school to year 10 and 12 pupils.

In a statement on Facebook on Tuesday (May 12) Nathan Jenkins, principal of The King Alfred School Academy said the school will update parents, carers and students as soon as they have more information.

"Following the recent announcements and the guidance that has been issued by the government, we have been fully analysing the details to develop plans to safely open school for years 10 and 12," Mr Jenkins said.

"We will update parents, carers and students as soon as we have a clear picture of what we need to do.

"Until then nothing has changed and students should continue with home learning or coming to school if their parents are key workers. #StaySafe."
