A NEW home manager has been appointed at a Burnham-on-Sea nursing home.

Staff at Priory Court Care Home in Burnham welcomed Vimal Samuel to the home this month.

Vimal has worked for Country Court, the company that operates Priory Court Care Home, for ten years and has been home manager at Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home in Weston-super-Mare for five years.

Vimal will lead the care and nursing teams at both homes bringing his in-depth knowledge and expertise to the nursing home teams.

Helen Richmond, operations director for Priory Cour Care, said: “I am delighted that Vimal will be managing both of these nursing homes in Somerset.

“Vimal is a highly respected and dedicated member of our team at Country Court and he has been supporting other care homes in the Somerset area for some time now.

"We believe in nurturing our staff and sharing best practice in the group in order to provide the very highest standards of care for our residents”.

Vimal completed his nursing degree in 2007 and went on to tutor for a year in medical and surgical nursing.

After completing an overseas nursing programme at Ashwood Nursing Home in Lincolnshire, he joined the nursing team and was then promoted to home manager, working for 2 homes before making the move with his family to Somerset in 2015.

Vimal said, “I am passionate about delivering the very highest standards of nursing care and I’m proud of the care my team provides at Summer Lane.

"I look forward to getting to know the residents and staff at Priory Court and sharing some of the best practice we have implemented at Summer Lane.”
