A NEW confirmed case of Covid-19 was recorded in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.
The person was diagnosed with the virus in the Somerset West and Taunton district.
There were no new cases confirmed in the other three districts of the county council area up to 5pm yesterday (Wednesday).
It means there have now been a total of 791 cases recorded in the county, according to Public Health England.
That is made up of 65 in Mendip; 221 in Sedgemoor; 308 in Somerset West and Taunton; and 197 in South Somerset.
There were no deaths of people with the coronavirus in the county over the same 24-hour period.
