A WOMAN is baffled by her very own cat 'burglar' that keeps returning home - with pairs of RUBBER GLOVES.

Bemused Sarah Mumby, 38, said the bizarre behaviour appears to stem from a love of rubbish.

But unlike other cats, the nine-month-old moggy doesn't seem to like catching animals - only bringing a mouse in once.

She said Maggie started by bringing small items into the house before graduating to litter - and now bringing back rubber gloves.

Sarah, of Clevedon, Somerset, says she has no idea where Maggie is getting the gloves from - and wants to apologise to anyone who has had a pair nicked.

She said: "Hopefully they can get some closure! I'm trying to find out who it is on Facebook.

"They are definitely used for gardening - they have mud on.

"It all started about a month ago, with really small things - like a stick, a feather or a leaf.

"I was waiting for when it would go up and gear and be animals. But it turns out that she doesn't have a love of animals - she loves litter.

"She brought home a strawberry tub and an empty potato bag.

"The one day I went downstairs - and there was a rubber glove on the floor. I asked my daughter and she didn't know anything about it.

"It's been a steady stream [of gloves] since then! It's just a mystery. Someone must be scratching their head.

"We are all on tenterhooks every time she comes in. We're hoping to set up a camera."

Sarah posted pictures of Maggie's finds in a local Facebook group with an amusing message.

She said: "Apologies if any of these are yours, my cat seems to be bringing home a steady stream of rubber gloves over the last couple of weeks.

"Let me know if they’re yours and I will replace them with a pair of gardening gloves. Sorry."
