THERE have been almost 500 more confirmed Covid-19 cases in Somerset than previous figures showed.
Public Health England has revealed there have been 1,273 positive test in the county council area.
Just 24 hours earlier the organisation had show there had been 800 known cases in the county.
The apparent discrepancy has emerged because the statistics only previously included pillar 1 results from labs and hospitals.
They now also include pillar 2 results from the wider community.
The figures up to 5pm on Wednesday show:
121 confirmed cases in Mendip; 386 in South Somerset; 436 in Somerset West and Taunton; and 330 in South Somerset.
