SOMERSET has had no new Covid-19 cases and no coronavirus-related deaths for the third consecutive day.

Public Health England has announced there were no positive Covid-19 tests anywhere in the county council area in the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday (Monday).

And NHS England says there were no deaths associated with the virus in the county over the same period.

It follows a weekend clear of confirmed new cases in Somerset.

The total number of positive lab, hospital and community tests in Somerset remains at 1,287.

The total number of confirmed cases in each district is: 123 in Mendip; 393 in Sedgemoor; 439 in Somerset West and Taunton; and 332 in South Somerset.
