SUPPORTERS are being asked to add a splash of colour to the Bank Holiday weekend to raise funds for St Margaret's Hospice Care.

The first ever Virtual Colour Run involves participants completing a run of any distance from their homes wearing bright colours.

And they're being asked to get colourful and creative by organising paint parties.

People who sign up will get a pack of colour powder to brighten up the occasion, during the charity's 40th anniversary celebration year.

You can actually do your Virtual Colour Run whenever you like, but St Margaret's will be live on Facebook on Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30 with virtual warms-ups, live stream encouragement and more.

Sonia Bateman, events fundraiser at the hospice, said: "The Virtual Colour Run is a perfect opportunity for all the family to still have a fantastic time this summer while doing something amazing for your local community.

"By taking part and raising sponsorship, you can help to ensure over 4,900 people facing a life limiting illness across Somerset receive the care and support they need this year."

Places on the Virtual Colour Run, sponsored by Western Power Distribution, cost £15 for adults and £10 for children aged five to 16.

Entrants receive a welcome pack including biodegradable paint and a medal.
