A SHED has been left badly damaged after a fire in Highbridge.

Burnham-on-Sea Fire Station has issued dramatic photos showing the aftermath of the fire in a shed in Highbridge.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public at 4.48pm on Saturday (August 15) reporting a shed on fire with a vehicle inside.

Two fire engines from Burnham-on-Sea and a fire engine from Bridgwater were sent to the incident by fire control.

The corrugated steel shed which was approx 20m x 10m was well alight when the incident commander arrived.

"Crews got to work to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus and a compressed foam jet," a fire service spokesperson said.

"Another main jet and high pressure hose reel was used as well to contain and damp down after the main fire was extinguished.

"Crews worked hard to contain the fire and prevented the fire reaching the vehicle that was inside.

"The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental."
