AN AREA of Apex Park will be cordoned off as a colony of masonry bees has been found in a sandpit.
Sedgemoor District Council said they have been made aware of the bees and will be cordoning off the area 'as a precaution.'
"The advice is to leave them alone; they do not sting and are non-aggressive," a spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council said.
"Most are active a very short time. After about four-to-six weeks of activity, they disappear for another year."
The council said the cordon could be in place for up to six weeks.
