STAFF at a Berrow adventure park said they were ‘blown away’ when they were asked to be part of a new TV show.

Four staff from Animal Farm Adventure Park travelled to Jimmy’s Farm in Ipswich, Suffolk, on September 7 to pick up six wallabies that needed to be rehomed and ended up being filmed alongside Jimmy Doherty for Autumn at Jimmy’s Farm.

Krystal Finch, site manager at Animal Farm Adventure Park, said staff really enjoyed meeting the team at Jimmy’s Farm and learned some new animal care techniques.

“We had a day out behind the scenes, learning some of their animal care, ideas for new enclosures as we’ve rescued lots of other animals during lockdown too inclduding African Giant Spurred Tortoises, Black Foxes, Raccoon Dogs and many more.

“We had lunch with Jimmy and the film crew and, then spent the afternoon catching and chipping the wallabies.

“It was great, the team at Jimmy’s Farm were so friendly. We are a lively bunch of girls and its been a tough summer for all in the industry, so I think it was good fun for all.

“We were really surprised that we were asked to get involved in filming.

“We’d been arranging to pick up the wallabies for about a month. When they pushed it back to September they invited us to be part of the TV show. We were blown away.”

Krystal said the new wallabies are settling into their new home well and her staff are looking forward to seeing the show when it airs.

“We were there for the first day of filming and the show is set to air next month. The team at Jimmy’s Farm loved having other animal carers involved,” Krystal said.

“I think they picked us as they had seen our live videos on Facebook which have been really well received.

“We are getting some other animals from Jimmy’s team soon and I think they’re going to drop the animals off and have a catch up with us.

“The wallabies are doing great. We are building a Wallaby Walkthrough, and setting up adoption packs too.”

A spokesperson for Channel 4, said: “Channel 4 returns to Jimmy’s Farm for Autumn, and with the changing seasons Jimmy and his team are flat out.

“The farm takes delivery of 8,000 turkeys and gets ready for the births of two dozen piglets.

“It’s also love-match time for the rare breed ewes whose lambs will arrive next Spring.

“Meanwhile, the team is preparing for the arrival of some new - and unpredictable - animals which could prove a handful for Jimmy and the rangers, and wildlife in the woodland starts to harvest the summer’s bounty to get ready for winter.”
