THE Covid-19 infection rate has risen in Somerset over the weekend, according to Government figures.
The number of cases in the county council area over the past seven days stands at 283, as reported yesterday evening
The district figures for the past seven days are Mendip 54 (no change from Friday's figure); Sedgemoor 83 (a rise of 12 cases); Somerset West and Taunton 99 (plus 16); and South Somerset 47 (an increase of three).
The infection rate per 100,000 of population is Mendip 46.7 (no change); Sedgemoor 67.4 (up 9.8); SWT 63.8 (up 10.3); and South Somerset 27.9 (plus 1.8).
The overall rate for Somerset is 50.3.
