AN unknown person was reported for throwing stones from the top of a building in the centre of Taunton yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Police say a member of the public contacted them, but the culprit had stopped by the time the force was informed.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We received a call from a member of the public at about 7.50pm last night (Tuesday, October 27) regarding antisocial behaviour in Fore Street, Taunton.
"They reported seeing someone throwing stones from a building in Fore Street, but the individual involved had stopped by the time we were contacted.
"No other calls about the issue have since been received.
"Anyone with further information about the incident can call 101 and give log number 956 of 27 October."
The mother of a man who witnessed the incident said yesterday:"What’s going on in Taunton town centre tonight?
"My son has come out of Nando’s 30 minutes ago, just got home and said bricks and rocks were being thrown at people from the top of buildings in the centre - hope police catch them."
