A SCHOOL in Highbridge has launched two festive campaigns to help feed those in need this Christmas.
Reverse Advent and 12 Days of Christmas, organised by The King Alfred School Academy, encourages students to donate food and drink to the foodbank.
As well as the donations, one student will showcase a talent via video every evening.
Organiser Baylea Charles said: "The Foodbank needs donations more than ever before and already our amazing students, families and staff are busy making sure this is a huge success.
“I am incredibly proud to be part of The King Alfred School Academy, working with a team of people trying to make a difference every day and positively helping our community.
“We are halfway through the project and already it is a great success.
“Please continue to enjoy our daily virtual performances and please donate an item to the food bank trollies if you are able, until the project ends on Thursday, December 17.”
The sixth form students, in particular Jack Miller (vice president of the student union) and Mia Nisa, have partnered with Tesco and Asda.
These local supermarkets have donated items and loaned trolleys.
The trolleys enable socially distanced collections of donations from students and staff as they arrive at the school gates.
